Workouts Can Be A Nasty Blast - Sentinel & Enterprise
By trevawikla, 11:15

Still, she'd like to see volume levels come down overall to that 85-decibel level, accompanied by an education push in gyms. Audiologists could lead classes in hearing health, Meinke suggests, and clubs could lend out noise dosimeters, devices that are worn throughout the day to measure cumulative exposure. These days, however, you'd be lucky simply finding a fitness facility that has a noise policy of any kind -- at least one that its management will discuss publicly.Orangetheory Fairfax declined to comment for this article, as did SoulCycle, the indoor cycling studio that's recently added two locations in the Washington area. Booming bass may be bad for your ears, but it's good for business, says Teri Bothwell, group fitness director of Sport & Health. The Washington-area gym chain trains instructors to keep their playlists near the 90-decibel mark by using sound monitors (which are now available as apps and accessible to anyone with a smartphone). That safety decision has led to occasional complaints from members demanding louder tunes, particularly in Zumba classes.

Engadget giveaway: win a set of wireless sport headphones courtesy of SMS Audio!

by Jon Turi | @jonturi | 10 hours ago March 3rd 2015 11:00 am 0 Workouts and wired headphones can be a dicey business, so finding a wireless option to fit your regimen should be a top priority -- a mid-run tangle on a treadmill could end up flinging you and your phone to the ground. You'll probably be sweating buckets, too, if you're doing it right. Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's very own SMS Audio checked all those boxes for its Wireless Sport series of on-ear and in-ear headphones, so you won't have to worry about those things if you're on the court, at the gym or out in the wild. Both pairs are IPX4 rated to deal with the waterworks and with 8-10 hours on a charge, you may run out of juice before they do.

New Butter Coffee Could Help You Lose Weight

Dave Asprey, an American entrepreneur, came up with the idea after trekking in Tibet and drinking tea laced with yak butter. The drink gave him extra energy to venture across the mountainous terrain. After brainstorming, Asprey developed a high fat, low carbohydrate diet that he claims provides protection against lethargy, fat and disease as well as aiding in weight loss. The actual recipe involves a double espresso (made with low-mold coffee) blended to a thick froth with at least two tablespoons of unsalted butter and one to two tablespoons of MCT or coconut oil. Asprey recommended that drinkers use organic coffee, grass-fed unsalted butter and organic MCT or coconut oil.

District Judge Clark Waddoups sided with Basic Research . Waddoups cited four case studies done in 2001, two of which suggested that the herbal compounds in Akavar helped users to lose weight because it caused food and liquids to stay longer in the stomach, making consumers feel full longer and prompting them to eat less. The FTC has filed a notice of appeal. Waddoups' decision is cited in the proposed settlement of the class-action lawsuit.

D-backs Have Only 3 Positions Settled As Workouts Begin - Yahoo Sports

''But he's on a different level. He's fun to watch. It just sounds different coming off the bat. There's a few guys in the game that have that kind of sound and he's one of them. ''We've got better defense, we have more power in the lineup. Everybody is excited to go out there and show that we've got a different team - a way better team.'' Another upgrade the Astros made was to bring back shortstop Jed Lowrie, who spent 2012 in Houston. A stellar defensive player, Lowrie also adds a punch to the lineup after driving in 50 runs a year ago. A big question this spring will be figuring out http://wm0000.hubpages.com/hub/To-be-Confident-Experience-Max-Workouts where to put Gattis, who has mostly played catcher in his career, but can play first base and in the outfield.

So its not a big surprise that our posture is anterior dominant Max Workouts review (meaning we are stronger on the front of our bodies than the back). As a result, we suffer from poor posture, back injuries and possibly worst of all, we create the illusion of a potbelly (even if we dont have much body fat). Perhaps the most important thing we can do to counteract our countless forward daily activities is to strengthen the muscles of our upper back. Known as the rhomboids, the upper back muscles work to pull our shoulder blades back together, thus drawing our shoulders back, opening up our chest and lengthening our abs! That changed on Jan. 19, when the Sun Devils held on for a 60-57 win to end a 16-game losing streak to the Cardinal and win at Maples Pavilion for the first time since 1984. Buoyed by that victory, Arizona State rallied from a 12-point deficit to beat the Cardinal 53-52 in Tempe on Feb.

If the past few years are any indication, the international market will present plenty of opportunities for the Phillies to flex some financial muscle. Yet the impression exists of the Phillies as also-rans in the hunt for any assets that do not already have significant wear and tear. On the one hand, $63 million for a 19-year-old is a lot of money. "There are way more political writers than political news," said a prominent political editor, who, in classic political fashion, asked not to be identified so that he could opine without repercussions. "Tons of companies don't seem to care about profit; they only care about their profile." This editor, whose political staff is expanding, laments that the bidding for reporters has driven up salaries, even for young and relatively unseasoned journalists. Some younger, promising reporters have received offers in excess of $150,000 a year, far more than they would have commanded just a few years ago, he said. "It's a very good time to be a political reporter if you're any good," he added, "but the salaries being kicked around are absurd." The most high-profile hires so far have been at Bloomberg, which last year poached Mark Halperin and John Heilemann to lead its new Bloomberg Politics brand. The group is part of the sprawling financial news and information empire controlled by Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York.

On the other, it is roughly the amount the Phillies paid A.J. Burnett, Jonathan Papelbon, Marlon Byrd and Cliff Lee last season.

In unusual twist, presidential race is revving up in Texas - Yahoo News

"If you're really for one of them, though, you're going to want to get involved now since they're all going to need resources." Having so many Texans and former Texans in the race is helping stoke the campaign atmosphere. Perry flexed his fundraising muscle this month by announcing the backing of nearly top 90 donors. At least some of those on the list, however, say they see it more as a salute to Perry's gubernatorial accomplishments than an endorsement of his future campaign. "That wouldn't be out of the question, that something would come up and I would support somebody else," said Red McCombs, the billionaire one-time owner of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. Tea party darling Cruz has proven to be a powerhouse fundraiser among activist conservatives nationwide.

Attesting to Smolkin's elevated prominence, her office is located next to Feist's in CNN's 350-person Washington bureau. The political expansion began just as the network began a cutback in other areas that will pare about 8 percent of its workforce, or about 300 people, through buyouts and layoffs. Smolkin's group recently produced an exclusive digital video and text report by correspondent Chris Moody about how Republican officials were secretly sharing internal polling data on midterm races with outside groups via anonymous Twitter accounts, potentially running afoul of campaign finance laws. Moody also appeared on CNN to discuss the story an example of the kind of multimedia "integration" CNN and others are hoping to achieve. "The line between digital and TV doesn't exist," declared Feist.

Rangers' Banister Basks In Glow Of 1st Workout As Manager - Yahoo Sports
By trevawikla, 00:19

In January. All I know is it was snowing and they had us outside, Minter said. It was like Rocky when he was in Russia (in Rocky IV). Former Eagles defensive end Mike Mamula is credited with starting the combine training trend. Mamula was considered a mid-round prospect after leaving Boston College early for the NFL in 1995. But BC strength coach Jerry Palmieri designed a program to get Mamula ready for the combine, where he ran the 40 in 4.58 seconds, pumped out 28 reps on the 225-pound bench press and had a vertical leap of 38.5 inches.

''I'll put that uniform on and feel like I am the luckiest guy on the planet.'' Lena Dunham Takes Over La Gym In Floral Two-piece Outfit | Page Six

http://maxworkoutsreviewed.tumblr.com/ The only other equipment needed is a good pair of walking shoes, which I replace about every three months. The poles can be ordered online. In 2006, while living in Minnesota, Peterson was introduced to Nordic walking by a friend and quickly was hooked. I loved the simplicity, peacefulness, and efficiency of this form of exercise, she said. She also loved the fact that it's noncompetitive, can be enjoyed as a social activity or alone, and it's simple.

On that front, McDaniel says that Alvarezs camp expects his paperwork to be done within 4-8 weeks, which should allow him to sign before July 2. That's notable because the Cubs and Rangers will not be able to sign him after exceeding their international bonus pools by more than 15 percent in 2013-14. On the flip side, the Diamondbacks, Angels, Red Sox and Yankees would still have a chance to sign him before their two-year Max Workouts reviews penalty begins. Scout buzz: The Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Phillies among the teams expected to be in heavy on 18-year-old Cuban flamethrower Yadier Alvarez. Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) February 12, 2015 Though it's too early to tell what the market will be, whoever does sign him will be taking a high-risk, high-reward gamble. McDaniel explains why. Again, as Ive already said, its super early to peg what Alvarezs talent and his market are, but hes clearly better than RHP Yoan Lopez, the 21-year-old Cuban who signed with the Diamondbacks earlier this year for an $8.25 million bonus.

No such thing! Marylands football players are among those getting to work this winter. It may be cold outside but the Terps are heating up inside lifting weights and grinding to be better in year two as a member of the Big Ten. Maryland performed better than most expected in their debut season in the new conference home, but the difference between Maryland and programs like Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State were pretty significant. Maryland lost games to those three top Big Ten programs by a combined score of 141-46. But hey, at least Maryland won games at Penn State and Michigan.

He teamed up with Cardale Jones to lay waste to Wisconsins defense in the Big Ten championship game, hauling in three long touchdown receptions in the Buckeyes' 59-0 win.
